Reversal of Poker Fortunes

We are so close to hearing the knock on the door notifying us that US online poker is back in business. Only recently Doyle's Room reversed its decision and is now accepting US poker players. This is a big deal. A very big poker deal. Doyle's been on the wrong end of the governmental stick before, so I am confident that the decision to offer online poker to Americans is a smart decision wrapped in his typical ALL-IN strategy.

Also the Poker Player Alliance has been doing it's own congressional door to door campaign to get the UIGEA reversed and cautious optimism is building momentum.

If you don't believe me, well my imaginary friend, Count G. Stein reports over hearing the Robinhood of Poker, Barry Greenstein say,

"I'm sure it will be less than 6 months before Congress realizes that they need to pass legislation contrary to the UIEGA. If it hasn't already happened, it will happen in a few weeks. I don't know how slow the process is and how much debate there will be as to whether there is a different approach that should be taken than the Frank and Wexler bills."

I am not trying to get folks too excited but those of you with poker based businesses may need to brush the dust off those US marketing plans! And poker players can prepare for great bonus deals and freerolls from the returning online poker sites. Furthermore, sites like Rounder Auction can expect increased referral income which translates into more up and coming poker players getting major poker sponsorship deals from their site.

Yes, 2008 is going to be a good year!
